Ukraine Day 782: ‘Let the Fire of Our Prayer Not Go Out!’

What we thank God for:

Thank God for the Fasting and Prayer Marathon, which is ongoing in Ukraine. Every week each region stands on a prayer vigil, and believers of various denominations pray for our country 24/7. Cherkasy region is in charge of prayer this week. Thank God for dedication, responsibility and faithfulness and we bless everyone who prays.
In the direction of Bakhmut, our soldiers repelled 10 attacks by Russian troops. And in the Sumy region, Ukrainian border guards repelled an attack by the enemy subversive intelligence group.
Despite the war, the World Bank predicts economic growth for Ukraine.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) donated approximately 39,000 laptops to facilitate access to education for middle and high school students in eight regions of Ukraine.
The EU allocates EUR 121 million to the EBRD to increase assistance to Ukraine. And the Netherlands allocated us an additional €4.4 billion.
The US President and Congress reached an agreement on aid to Ukraine.
NATO countries will provide Ukraine with five anti-mine ships.
Lithuania will allocate funds for the installation of metal detectors in Ukrainian schools.
During the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 6 tanks, 31 units of combat armored vehicles, and 51 units of automobile equipment.

⚠️ Threats remain:

The Russians attacked Poltava. They launched a rocket attack on Slovyansk, Donetsk region. The Russians dropped an aerial bomb in the Kharkiv region. The Zaporizhzhia region experienced 400 shellings per day.
In the occupied territories, the Russians are looting Ukrainian enterprises, in addition, they are intensifying mobilization measures.
Russia is tricking migrant workers into “special forces” for the front.
Russia and China trade copper under the guise of scrap to avoid sanctions.

🙏Prayer needs:

We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, will grant us a wise heart and openness to His revelation, so that we can know Him. And especially in this difficult and controversial time – in order not to go astray, not to get carried away by what comes not from God’s heart, but from people. • We pray for the failure of Russia’s plans to destroy our power system, use it as a weapon, try to instill fear in people before the threat of blackouts, and also demoralize them.
We pray for those who defend us from the enemy on the battlefield. May the Lord strengthen them in spirit, soul and body, may they rely on God, on His protection. After all, salvation is only in Christ.
There is information that there is a lack of chaplains on the front lines for the spiritual support of military personnel. We pray for the replenishment of the ranks of ministers at the front who could provide spiritual support to our soldiers. About the unity of chaplains of different denominations, about focusing on the main thing to which we are called – the salvation of souls.
In 2024, Ukraine faces serious demographic challenges that may significantly affect the country’s future. Therefore, there is an urgent need for prayers for slowing down the rate of population decline, for adaptation and restoration of Ukraine’s attractiveness for talents and investors, for preservation of social stability and development of education, as well as for readiness for adaptation in the field of defense and public administration.
We pray for the elderly who are suffering from this war and its consequences. (Ukraine recorded a decrease in the number of pensioners). We pray for state support for these people, so that they are not perceived as economic ballast. After all, a state in which old age is not respected is doomed to defeat.

“The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,” Psalm 33:16-18 ESV

There is a critical situation with medicines in the occupied Luhansk region.

🙏Prayer needs:

We pray for the president of our country, for the military leadership. May the Lord strengthen these people, may they heed the wise advice, thanks to which millions of lives will be saved, may the fear of God fill their hearts.
We pray for Ukrainians. According to a recent study, the war in Ukraine significantly worsened the mental health of people, especially internally displaced persons who experienced losses and witnessed the explosions. Let hearts be opened for Christ, for His love, salvation. May God’s peace fill them, may spiritual wounds be healed, may souls be healed.
We pray for our defenders, especially those who have been in the grip of war for a long time. May the Lord strengthen and preserve, may he lead and guide. We bless every warrior.
